Battlefield with too much love

Love Battlefield tells a story of a couple on the verge of breaking up... and suddenly separated by a deadly situation with drug dealers. This is a greek tragedy, Hong Kong style. Both parties here involved have some good reasons to act like they do. You don't see that too often. The whole point of the story is to tell you how much the guy and the girl love each other. And somehow, it manages to do just that : you can be moved by this movie. Sometimes. The direction is acceptable : there are some good scenes, and the whole plot is correctly edited. The action scenes are especially well designed, and leave a good impression even though it's obvious that they didn't have much means. However, i wonder... is this really a movie ? Frankly speaking, i felt i was watching a good TV drama more than a real film. It has to do with the dialogs, the characters, and the lame ending (don't they know when to stop ??). It seems a little cheap overall. The success of a movie lies in how consistent it can be. Love Battlefield wants to be carefully realistic at times (the hero is a pretty normal guy) but some action scenes destroy all sense of reality in the audience. That's a shame. Let's sum it up : a bit cheap, a bit too dramatic, a bit too long. Good try though.
